Sweetheart and Gilbert both feed into Gilbert Bay inside Port Snettisham. Gilbert creek is nothing but a shallow clear creek. Not bad for a quick swim, but not enough water movement for boating.
Sweetheart is a short and steep clear creek. The first 1/2 mile of creek has several powerful and wood filled falls. The runable falls all have undercut rocks. There are ways to sneak around, but a mishap would not pleasant. On map there is a 1/2 mile run about 3/4 of a mile up creek. I did not scout this section due to amount of wood in creek. The runable sections of creek had a similar feel to Carlson creek. Class II to III with log jams ever 100 feet.
The upper section of river is worth checking out on future trips to the area.
