Southern Hemisphere packrafting meet-up

Hello everyone

We’ve finalised dates for a packrafting meet-up in Murchison, NZ…

Friday 8th - Sunday 10th January 2016 - lock it in your calendar! We would LOVE to have some internationals come to join us

If you’re on facebook, check out the event below. I’ll have an event site up and running in the next few weeks with more info as well and I’ll update this thread. The meet-up will be based loosely around the APA Montana roundup.

Following the meet-up the idea is that people will peel off into smaller groups and head off on some good packrafting missions. I’m personally going to commit to being available for packrafting missions until the very end of January.

Watch this space! Please get in touch if you have ideas or are keen to get involved. We’ve been throwing around a few ideas via email, as John mentioned in a previous posting. Exciting times in this part of the world on the packrafting front!

Cheers,

Dulkara

Pretty sure Dulkara means Friday 8th to Sunday 10th January as per the Facebook Event site.

Will be great to see how much interest there is in this event. Murchison is an amazing place to paddle with lots of high quality relatively easy runs so close to a centrally based camping ground.

Agree with Mark, just back from NZ and spent a couple of days up at Murchison.Nice little town and top campsite, the (ex) Hawaiian owners are really hospitable. Plethora of options around for all levels of paddlers, the Buller itself can be pretty big volume but a bundle of side rivers etc. Very nice venue for this sort of thing
