Effects of water on submerged bike

I’ve been looking around and can’t seem to find the answer of what effect water has on a bike when you flip the raft while bikerafting. The bike will be completely submerged in water ( even if for a short time ). The water will get into the bearings in the wheels and bottom bracket right?

Also, what do you guys think about a surly Moonlander as a good bike for bikerafting?

-total newb but willing to accept advice!

I’ve done it a few times. The short term effects aren’t really a problem but if you leave the bike for a while after your trip you are likely to end up with some seized bearings.

Moonlander – or any bike, really – would be fine just keeping in mind that it will be heavier than a lot of bikes.
