Hey Alaskans, I’m using the Glacier Discovery Train to run those rivers this weekend. I’m up for river buddies if you want to join. It’s train assisted for the Placer, but the Portage would have the option of shuttles. Otherwise I’m using the train for that one too. The Placer on Saturday, camp around 20mile, and run Portage on Sunday. If you want to join, PM me for the details. A glance at Girdwood’s forecast looks like a good weekend for it. From what I’ve read, both are good I-II beginner rivers.
