Seattle area packrafters Unite! (and surrounding area)

Long time kayaker and new packrafter looking to connect and to connect with local packrafters. I haven’t paddled much in recent years but was a happy class 4-5 hardshell boater. I’m hoping to find some people who want to paddle local rivers for fun and skill building. I unfortunately can’t really hike do to a leg issue so for me packrafts are about access to paddling in other country’s and flying to Alaska but I’m restricted too fly ins and roadside runs for the most part.

Anyone want to go for a paddle? Contact me here or shoot me an email at…newbflat (at) yahoo (dot) com.

In Seattle.

Bill,
I am a fellow Seattle packrafter and would love to unite! Im up in Shoreline and use the packraft for running rivers as well as fishing and sailing. I dont know if you are into the fishing or have a windpaddle sail and sail much, but I highly recomend it. The sailing is awesome and great for what you are talking about with pull up packrafting and not as hiking intensive. Im looking to sail Edmonds, Richmond Beach, Carkeek Park, Golden Gardens, and Discovery Point areas depending on a N or S wind. I have the adventure windpaddle. http://www.windpaddle.com/adventure_sail.htm

Here is a little video I made last summer sailing around the sound.

Im looking people who would be interested. Im 25 and still love to hike and run rivers too, and like to do the Hoh and Queets, but am mainly looking for fishing rivers for Salmon and Steelhead as opposed to rapid focused trips.

Let me know if your interested.

Cheers,

Jon D

Interesting, open water paddling and sailing are two things I never really thought about with a packraft. I have two surfskis, a sea kayak, a folding kayak with a sail and a few touring inflatables plus two sailboats, so I’m having a hard time figuring where a packraft would fit in my open water boat quiver…

I’m primerialy interested in river travel be it easy floats in interesting places to hard whitewater. I’m more than intreated in doing some river travel and maybe getting in contact with anyone you know who wants
to paddle whitewater.

I live on lake union on a houseboat near Gas Works park.

Looks like your vid was taken down do to music copyright issues.

I also live in Seattle and would be looking to paddle rapid focused trips. I’m comfortable in Class III in the packraft and would be looking to tackle everything from roadside rivers to longer hike in trips.

I will be in Seattle June 10-19th and I am looking to packraft in the Olympics and Cascades.

Send me a note. I don’t mind long hikes for access.

In Olympia a newbie packrafter looking for paddlers

It is very useful at all I like this Kathu
