Hi guys,
I am after a lightweight helmet with face protection and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions?
I figure as the packraft eskimo roll lends itself to a face full of rocks it is worthwhile to protect the ol money maker. Do others feel the same way?
Thanks a bunch,
Jeremy.
A faceguard used in canoe polo would do it. search “canoe polo helmet faceguard”. should be easily available through a kayak shop.
Hi Mudskipper,
Thanks a bunch for your reply, the start of that search directed me to a bunch of great helmets.
What I found so far was :
http://www.wrsisafety.com/moment_red.asp
http://www.amazon.com/Cascade-Full-Kayak-Helmet-Face/dp/B0039L6LDM
http://www.sweetprotection.com/whitewater-kayak/helmets-protection/?p=rocker-fullface&pid=346
As alot of these are heavy and or super expensive, I was actually thinking about getting something like this and adding making my own face gaurd out of Carbon fiber pipes:
http://www.headtriphelmets.com/three-quarter-universal-helmet.html
Not sure how these 3 quarter helmets would go in white water though?
Cheers,
Jeremy.
