slocum

Slocum bay, a popular anchorage for our gill netter community has a creek in the back. On maps it has a favorable slope. In reality expect 4th class bush wacking, bumpy class I clear creek, and log jams every 60 feet or so. With a lot of saw work it could be cleared up for a fun beginner run, but because of its distance via boat from Juneau, and the difficulty of the brushy approach, not worth your time. We ran only the first mile or so, perhaps another mile back would offer less wood, but seems unlikely.
