Skilak bikeraft microadventure trip report

Bernie and I just returned from a Skilak bikeraft microadventure.

We left from Hidden Creek Trail and rode down to the beach.
From there we paddled across the lake to the outwash river bar of Skilak River. Cycling to the glacier lake was about
95% rideable with only a few short willow fences and boulder scrambles. The daily katabatic winds were fairly strong,
so we waited until evening to paddle to the glacier and camped in a gorge on the east shore near the glacier.

In the morning we paddled back to the mouth of the river and ran the class 2 (super fun) glacier river (creek) back to the lake
and followed the same route back to the car.

Fun, inexpensive, and short with a wide variety of terrain and wildlife.

Thanks for posting! Looks like a fun trip. I was back there in April on skate skis so its neat to see the transformation to green.
