six mile wood

There is a bunch of wood in six mile. Every time the river rises it moves. There is dangerous wood in class 2 and 3 rapids. Ran into a group that had a close call today. Two paddlers apparently paddled and swam into a channel wide strainer in a class 3 rapid below “waterfall”. One boat was caught on the log and removed, another floated into third canyon and was found above the staircase rapid. Be careful.

Ran first and second canyon on Saturday, May 7. As was mentioned, there is one channel wide sweeper/strainer about 300’ down from the foot bridge on river right. Clear channel on river left. No wood anywhere else, all the way to the Second Canyon take out. At 9.65’ there appeared to be no other problem pieces. Boat on!
