The Teton is a great packraft with oppoutunties to bike raft or make a few days of it. Small Class I river with not a lot of action, but scenic and fun. Did a half day float on July 30th and flows were fine. A little low but never got hung up. Probably not floatable this time of year on average. We started above the confluence of the Middle Fork and jumped out at the confluence of the South Fork, biked 7 miles back to the truck. Very little wood, only a few downed trees that you can squeeze by. Only had to portage once. The road follows the river the whole time and although there is some traffic on the road, the river is empty. I have fished this river for years and rarely ever see anyone else doing the same. It has great Cutts and some Bows. The forks are small and tight, not sure if they are floatable even in spring.
This river is floatable all the way from the end of the West Fork road down. Probably wouldn’t want to float past Highway 89. The river slows and gets flat. May/June to early July it could even be hiked up further, the trail at the end of the road follows the river all the way up. The Ahorn Fire burned everything North of Teton Pass Ski Area so there is probably a potential for log jams upriver from there. Definitly planning on hitting this again next spring from a lot further up, so will have more to report then.
