Anyone traveling or living in NZ right now? I’m looking for partners for tramping and paddling. Have been paddling local rivers on the top of the South Island, , but looking to do some lengthier loop tramps with packrafts. cheers!
Hi I am receiving my Yukon Yak today, my first packraft. I have been Kayaking for 4 years, and am happy up to grade 3+. I am planning on only using the raft for easier rivers, it will take me a while to get used to it. I will head into Mt Aspiring to paddle grade 2 stuff and any other Otago rivers - will see how it goes. Tramping and rafting is the plan - I am in Wanaka til March 2012. If you are thinking of packrafting down this way it would be good to hear from you.
